Subject: TR The Nikolay Berdyaev’s “Russian Idea” and the Problem of Binarity
Abstract

Nikolay Berdyaev was always thinking of Russia trying to come to terms with the idea of binarity. Russia is neither the East, nor the West. Russian people are equally free and enslaved, pagan and Christian, male and female.

Berdyaev gives a number of binary oppositions showing the ambivalence and the schism as the fundamental principles of Russian history and culture. This presentation channelges the truth of his statements.
